Holy Masses Celebrated for the Repose of Pope Francis’ Soul in Adoni Parish of Kurnool Diocese

Adoni, Andhra Pradesh, April 25, 2025: Holy Masses were celebrated at Infant Jesus Church, Mandigiri, and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Sukravaripeta—both part of the Adoni Parish in the Diocese of Kurnool—on April 25, 2025, for the repose of the soul of His Holiness Pope Francis. The services saw the heartfelt participation of the faithful and religious sisters affiliated with the respective churches.

Rev. Fr. Kola Vijaya Raju, Parish Priest and Dean of the Adoni Deanery, was the main celebrant at both Masses. In his homily, Fr. Kola reflected on Pope Francis’ profound commitment to compassion, dialogue, and service to the marginalised. He urged the faithful to live out these values in their daily lives as a meaningful tribute to the late pontiff’s life and mission.

As a mark of reverence, a portrait of Pope Francis was garlanded following each Mass, and prayers were offered before it by the gathered faithful. These solemn ceremonies served as a touching expression of both grief and gratitude, symbolising the deep spiritual connection between the local Church and its "Universal Shepherd".
