Feast of St. Anthony Celebrated at Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

JABALPUR, M.P., June 14, 2025: The feast of St. Anthony of Padua was celebrated with solemnity and devotion on June 13 by the parish of Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Jabalpur. The celebration was led by Most Rev. Valan Arasu, Bishop of Jabalpur, who presided over the feast day Mass. The celebration was held in the church hall due to ongoing renovation work at the cathedral.

Fr. Davis George, Vicar General of the Diocese, and the parish priest of the cathedral parish concelebrated the Mass, which drew a large number of faithful from the parish and surrounding areas.

In preparation for the feast, daily novena prayers were held from the beginning of June at the grotto dedicated to St. Anthony on the cathedral grounds. Each day of the novena featured the celebration of Holy Masses, which were organised by various Small Christian Communities (SCCs) of the parish. Many parishioners shared testimonies of grace and blessings received during the novena days.

The celebration on the feast day concluded with the traditional lowering of the St. Anthony flag, accompanied by the prayerful chant, “St. Anthony, pray for us.”
