Nongstoin, Meghalaya, Sept 25, 2025 – The Regional Family Commission of the Northeast India Regional Bishops Council held a Training of Trainers programme for members of the Nongstoin Diocese Family Commission on 20 and 21 September 2025 at the Nongstoin Social Service Society premises. Forty-seven participants from 24 parish family cells across the diocese attended the training, which aimed to strengthen their leadership and resource facilitation skills in family ministry.
During the two-day event, Fr. George Jarain, Regional Secretary of the Family Commission, led a session on ‘Remote Marriage Preparation Course’, and Mr. Julius Nongdhar conducted a session on ‘Teaching Skills’ tailored to family catechism. The training also featured interactive workshops. On the first day, a workshop was held with participants divided into small groups. On the second day, a workshop was held with a larger group of participants, allowing them to practise and share their skills.
The programme equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively train resource persons in their respective parishes to conduct village-based programmes. It also prepared them to lead and guide youth in their respective parishes toward future family life.
The two-day event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by one of the participants, marking the culmination of a productive and enriching training initiative.
