Hyderabad, November 20, 2025 — Divyavani Social Communications inaugurated its new building on 15 November at the St. John’s Regional Seminary campus in Hyderabad, marking a significant milestone for Catholic media in the Telugu region. The opening ceremony began with an address by Bishop Polimera Jayarao of Eluru, Chairman of Divyavani TV, who set a tone of gratitude and mission for the celebrations. A Thanksgiving Holy Mass brought together Bishop Rayarala Vijay Kumar of Srikakulam, PIME, Vice Chairman of Divyavani TV, the seminary formators, and the faithful, with Bishop Dhaman Kumar of Nalgonda delivering the homily.
During the three-day celebration from 13 to 15 November, organisers expressed deep appreciation for the staff of St. John’s Regional Seminary, recognising nine years of support and hospitality. Special acknowledgement went to Fr. Kommareddy Marreddy, Rector, and Fr. K. Christopher, Procurator. As the inauguration continued, Bishop Jayarao joined the Divyavani Communication Directors in celebrating the Holy Mass, accompanied by the Shourreddy music group. A musical concert by a Sevaagram team under the leadership of Yeruva Vincent Reddy added vibrancy to the event. The community also joyfully marked the 32nd Priestly Ordination Anniversary of Fr. I. Lourdhuraj, CEO of Divyavani TV, honouring his steadfast contribution to media ministry.
Devotional ceremonies followed, including prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the blessing of salt and water, symbolising purity and divine protection. A plaque bearing the names of benefactors was blessed and unveiled. Cardinal Poola Anthony, together with Bishop Jayarao, Bishop Rayarala Vijay Kumar, Fr. Lourthuraj, and Programme Director Fr. Anakarla Prasanth, blessed the new building, while each room was consecrated for God’s service.
Archbishop Udumala Bala of Visakhapatnam blessed the statues of saints, and other TCBC bishops blessed the chapel (studios) and remaining rooms. Cardinal Poola Anthony presided over the solemn Holy Eucharist, during which Bishop Johannes Gorantla of Kurnool, OCD, proclaimed the Gospel. Several TCBC bishops, invited prelates, clergy, CRI representatives, Provincials, and guests took part.
Cultural presentations enriched the celebration. The Divyavani Anthem and an AI-assisted theme song were performed with grace, while Bishop Jayarao and Fr. Lourdhuraj shared messages and presented the annual report. Archbishop Bala spoke on media’s essential role in the Church. Performances by the Sisters of St. Ann’s, Madhavaram, and the Salesian Sisters brought devotional depth, and a documentary showcased Divyavani’s services.
Books by Fr. Lourdhuraj and Fr. Amalanathan SJ were released. As the occasion coincided with the birthday of Cardinal Poola Anthony, a cake-cutting ceremony and the felicitation of bishops were held. Divyavani conveyed heartfelt thanks to all bishops, benefactors, guests, and corpus fund donors. The celebrations concluded with a fellowship meal shared in unity and gratitude.
