JHARSUGUDA, August 12, 2026: Twenty-nine young participants, including several religious sisters, are undergoing training to become responsible and creative digital communicators at the seventh batch of the Digital Ambassadors Training Programme being held at Shanthi Bhavan, Jharsuguda.
Organised by Satprakashan Sanchar Kendra under the leadership of Fr Babu Joseph SVD and Fr Anthony Swamy SVD, the week-long programme began on August 10 and will conclude on August 15. It focuses on artificial intelligence, graphic design, photography, content creation and social media management.
Fr Anuranjan SVD, Provincial Superior of the SVD India East Province, urged participants to cultivate a constructive presence on digital platforms, which he said are often affected by misinformation, negativity and conflict.
“We need to be ambassadors on digital platforms where we can bring peace,” he said, encouraging participants to become bridge-builders who promote understanding, harmony and peace.
Fr Babu Joseph SVD, programme coordinator, urged the participants to move beyond passive consumption of digital content and become creators of meaningful material.
“We should not remain content consumers but become content contributors,” he said.
The training covers three major areas — photography and designing, AI tools for content creation, and social media management. Practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises form a major part of the programme.
Fr Anthony Swamy SVD conducted sessions on photography, focusing on composition, framing, perspective and developing an eye for meaningful images. Participants used cameras and mobile phones to practise creating visually engaging photographs.
“We are all potential photographers, but we need to move towards professional photography,” he said.
Sessions on graphic design introduced participants to colour theory, typography, visual balance, branding and visual communication. Using Canva, participants created flyers, posters and other digital materials, including content showcasing tribal culture, traditional food practices and indigenous art forms.
AI and prompt engineering sessions led by Harneet Singh introduced participants to effective prompting and the creative and responsible use of artificial intelligence. Participants explored tools such as Suno AI, Google Flow, CapCut, Gemini and ElevenLabs through demonstrations and practical exercises.
They experimented with music, video production, visual content, voice materials and animation. A key activity involved creating inspirational anthem songs for parishes and institutions, while Google Flow was used to explore character animation and visual storytelling.
The programme aims to equip young people and religious with practical skills to communicate effectively and ethically in the digital environment. By combining photography, design, artificial intelligence and social media skills, it encourages participants to use digital platforms for education, social awareness and the promotion of positive values.
The remaining sessions will focus on content creation and social media management. Participants are expected to take their newly acquired skills back to their institutions, parishes and communities, where they can serve as creative Digital Ambassadors and promote constructive communication in the digital age.
