Devaahaaram Completes 2,000 Days of Uninterrupted Service to the Needy

Bhopal, April 9, 2026: In a remarkable witness to sustained compassion and social commitment, Devaahaaram—an outreach initiative of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences College—has completed 2,000 days of uninterrupted service dedicated to feeding the hungry and supporting marginalised communities.

Inspired by the words of Mother Teresa, “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving,” the initiative reflects a deep commitment to human dignity. Under the leadership of Fr. John PJ, this service is rooted in the core values of compassion and love.

At the heart of the initiative is a daily food distribution programme, where meals are prepared and distributed every morning by staff and students. More than 300 breakfast packets are provided to caretakers of patients at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, addressing an important need.

Beyond the provision of food, the initiative emphasises respect, equality, and compassion in every interaction. The milestone of 2,000 days highlights consistency in service without interruption, strong institutional commitment, continuous staff and student engagement and leadership, and a growing network of supporters and well-wishers.

Considered as one of the Best Practices of the institution, Devaahaaram reflects the dedication of the BSSS family to uphold the values of service and solidarity.

This milestone is also an occasion to express gratitude to all contributors and participants, and to reflect on the journey while reaffirming the commitment to continue serving society.

Devaahaaram continues to stand as a living example of how an educational institution can extend beyond academics to become a centre of social transformation, reminding that even the simplest act of sharing a meal can be a powerful expression of love and humanity.
