Commission for Health Commemorates Jubilee of Medical Professionals at Karwar Diocese

Karwar, August 26, 2025: The Diocese of Karwar Commission for Health organised the Jubilee of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff on 24th August at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad. A total of 42 members actively participated in this significant event. The SRA Sisters of St. Ignatius Convent led a prayer service, invoking God’s blessings upon all healthcare professionals.

THE SOUL OF THE LITURGY: MUSIC IN THE SERVICE OF THE SACRED

Bishop Duming Dias of Karwar, delivered a motivating address, underlining the importance of Gospel values in healthcare. He also called for the formation of a Think Tank Committee comprising doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff to reflect on and address the current challenges in the health sector.


Br. Antony Raj, the resource person, gave a thought-provoking talk on Spiritual Wellness, highlighting how spiritual well-being within healthcare integrates physical, mental, and social health while fostering harmony with nature. Fr. Richard Rodrigues, Vicar General, spoke on Cultivating Empathy and Compassion, emphasising the Ten Commandments of ‘C’s for healthcare workers to practise in both their professional and personal lives.


Sr. Philippa, SRA, expressed appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the Jubilee. The Eucharistic Celebration offered thanks to God for the selfless service of medical professionals in the Diocese of Karwar.
