Vatican City, September 6, 2025 – The Vatican will host a landmark celebration tomorrow as Pope Leo canonises Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati in St. Peter’s Square.
The Holy Mass with Canonisations begins at 10:00 a.m. Rome time (1:30 p.m. IST), with entry to St. Peter’s Square opening at 8:00 a.m. (11:30 a.m. IST). The Vatican has confirmed that no tickets are required.
Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old computer enthusiast who died of leukaemia in 2006, is widely recognised as the Church’s first saint of the digital age. Pier Giorgio Frassati, a young Italian student and social activist who died in 1925, is remembered as the “Man of the Beatitudes” for his deep faith and service to the poor.

With tomorrow’s canonisation, Carlo Acutis will officially become the Catholic Church’s first saint of the digital age, while Pier Giorgio Frassati will be recognised for his exemplary witness to Christian faith and action in society.
