Christmas Fellowship Brings Church, Civic and Political Leaders Together in Eluru

Eluru, Dec 24, 2025: Christmas in Eluru became a platform for public fellowship and civic harmony on December 21 as leaders from political, administrative and social spheres gathered at a Christmas High Tea hosted by Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera of Eluru.


The gathering brought together the Eluru MLA, the Mayor, the Zilla Parishad Chairman and leaders representing Jana Sena, BJP, Congress, CPI and YSRCP. Senior district officials, including the District Additional Superintendent of Police and the Eluru DSP, along with corporators and other prominent citizens, were also present, reflecting wide participation from public life.


Highlighting the spirit of Christmas as one of peace, goodwill and shared responsibility, dignitaries extended their greetings to Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera and the Christian community. Their messages and participation underscored the importance of mutual respect and pointed to a harmonious working relationship between the Church, the civil administration and political leadership in the district.


The evening moved from dialogue to symbolic action with the cutting of the Christmas cake, a gesture that marked shared celebration among Church leaders, elected representatives and officials. Christmas carols followed, reinforcing the message of joy and togetherness that framed the gathering.


Organised under the coordination of Fr. Bala, Vicar General, along with Fr. Steven, Secretary, and Fr. B. Raju, Procurator, the event reflected the Church’s continuing engagement with public life in the district. The gathering positioned Christmas not merely as a religious observance, but as a civic moment that fostered fraternity and cooperation across faiths and institutions.
