Catholic Association of Hyderabad (CAH) Honours Catholic Teachers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, October 15, 2025: The Catholic Association of Hyderabad (CAH) hosted a grand felicitation ceremony on 12 October at St. Francis College, Secunderabad, to honour over 200 Catholic teachers, both retired and serving from the Archdiocese of Hyderabad. Coinciding with the Vatican-instituted Jubilee Celebration of World Education by Pope Leo, the event celebrated the educators’ lifelong dedication and moral guidance.


Dr. Naveen Nicolas, Commissioner and Director of School Education, served as Chief Guest and praised the teachers’ faith-driven commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering compassionate leaders. The ceremony featured several dignitaries including Mrs. Larisa Peter (YOUCAT India Member, recently honoured by Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican).


The day began with the Eucharistic Celebration which was led by Fr. M. M. Kennedy, Principal of Fr. Roch Memorial High School, who paid tribute to teachers for “shaping hearts, inspired dreams, and built futures with patience and love.”

Blessings and appreciation came from Cardinal Oswald Gracias Mr. Elias Vaz (President, All India Catholic Union), Mr. Raphael (AICU Leader, Mumbai) and various celebrants
