Srikakulam, Jan 12, 2026: A call to rediscover humility, simplicity and deep trust in God marked the Feast of the Infant Jesus celebrations at Narasannapeta, as Bishop Dhaman Kumar of the Nalgonda Diocese delivered a reflection-centered homily that set the spiritual tone of the day.
Preaching during the solemn Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Dhaman Kumar drew attention to the Infant Jesus as a powerful symbol of God’s nearness to humanity through simplicity and vulnerability. He urged the faithful to move away from pride and self-reliance and instead cultivate a childlike faith marked by love, innocence and total dependence on God. Such faith, he said, has the power to renew families, parishes and society at large. The bishop reminded the congregation that devotion to the Infant Jesus is not merely ritualistic but calls believers to a transformed way of life.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Rayarala Vijaya Kumar of the Diocese of Srikakulam and was attended by a large number of priests, religious sisters and brothers, and lay faithful from Narasannapeta and neighboring parishes. The active participation of parishioners, youth and parish associations reflected the strong devotional spirit surrounding the feast.
At the conclusion of the celebration, parish priest Fr. Williams expressed gratitude to both bishops for their pastoral presence and guidance, and acknowledged the collective efforts of clergy, religious, parish leaders and volunteers in making the feast a spiritually enriching event for the entire community.
