Bishop Joseph Kallarackal Urges Faithful to Embrace Mary’s ‘Yes’ at Jaipur Feast of the Annunciation

Jaipur, March 26, 2026 — Centering his message on the courage and surrender of Virgin Mary, Bishop Joseph Kallarackal called on the faithful to anchor their lives in God’s will during the feast celebration at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation on March 25.

Preaching on the mystery of the Annunciation, the Bishop reflected on Mary’s deeply human experience of uncertainty—describing her as “perplexed, confused and afraid”—before she ultimately surrendered to God’s plan with complete trust. He urged the congregation to draw strength from her example, especially in moments of doubt, and to remain steadfast in their faith.

Addressing the 19 children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation during the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Kallarackal encouraged them to root their lives in the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit and to respond generously to God’s call, just as Mary did.

The solemn liturgy was concelebrated by Vicar General Fr Edward Olivera, Parish Priest Melwin D’Souza, and other clergy, with a large number of parishioners participating in the celebration.

Following the Mass, certificates and mementos were presented to the newly confirmed, marking an important step in their faith journey.

The feast celebration thus became not only a commemoration of the parish’s patronal day but also a moment of spiritual renewal, as the Bishop’s homily invited the faithful to live with courage, trust and openness to God’s purpose.
