London, August 29, 2025: After staging over 25 successful performances across Goa, Ahmedabad, and Delhi, the acclaimed tiatr (theatre play in Konkani) “Daddy’s Home” will premiere in the United Kingdom this season. The award-winning production, written and directed by Fr. Milton Rodrigues, will be presented by Xavier Dias Production, marking a significant milestone in its theatrical journey.
The tiatr, which secured First Place at the Kala Academy’s A Group Tiatr Competition (2023–24), is known for its emotional narrative and strong social message. It explores the struggles of neglected elderly and abandoned children, drawing a poignant parallel between the human longing for a home, both on earth and in heaven.
Greg Carvalho will manage the lighting design for the UK staging of the tiatr, ensuring a visually compelling experience to complement its powerful storyline and message. The play’s musical score, composed by Lenoy Gomendes, adds depth to the emotional resonance of the production.
Fr. Milton, a Goan Catholic priest belonging to the Society of Pilar, is widely recognised for his thought-provoking theatrical productions, including Prison Ministry, Tum Naslo Tor, and I Am Sorry. His latest tiatr, Daddy’s Home, features a stellar cast comprising acclaimed actors such as Derrick D’Mello, Marta D’Souza, Simon D’Silva, Maricia Fernandes, John Edward D’Silva, and several others, who deliver compelling performances that bring the play’s narrative to life.
As “Daddy’s Home” prepares for its overseas debut, it aims to evoke the same heartfelt response in UK audiences that it has garnered across India. The production promises not only entertainment but also a profound reflection on family, compassion, and humanity.
