5,000 Women Converge in Jashpur for Faith and Family Conference

Kharwatoli, Jashpur Diocese, February 13, 2026: In a remarkable display of faith and solidarity, nearly 5,000 women from nine parishes gathered at Kharwatoli Parish on February 7 and 8 for the Annual Deanery-Level Women’s Conference under the Ginabahar Deanery, underscoring the growing commitment of women to the spiritual and social life of the local Church.

The two-day conference focused on strengthening faith formation, nurturing family life, and promoting social wellbeing. Participants engaged in prayer, reflection, and interactive sessions led by clergy, religious sisters, and lay professionals, creating an atmosphere of renewal and empowerment.

Rev. Fr. Deepak Kindo, SDV, addressed the gathering on the pivotal role of mothers in spiritual and sacramental life. He described mothers as “the heart of the family” and the first teachers of faith, urging them to deepen their commitment to prayer, regular participation in the sacraments, and the daily practice of Gospel values. Strong families, he emphasized, are built on spiritual foundations cultivated within the home.

Focusing on contemporary challenges, Sr. Deepti Minj of the Holy Cross congregation reflected on the evolving dynamics of family life in a rapidly changing society. She acknowledged the pressures facing modern families and called on women to serve as pillars of unity and understanding. Stressing the importance of communication, forgiveness, and mutual respect, she encouraged participants to foster environments of love and stability within their households.

The conference also incorporated practical guidance on personal wellbeing. Dr. Deep Shikha and her team led an awareness session on women’s health, highlighting the importance of regular medical check-ups, balanced nutrition, hygiene, and self-care. They urged women to prioritize their health as an essential component of caring for their families and communities.

Organizers described the gathering as a milestone event for the deanery, reflecting the vibrant participation of women in the mission of the Church. As the conference concluded, participants returned to their parishes with renewed spiritual zeal and a strengthened commitment to building faith-filled families and resilient communities.
