Vasai, April 9, 2025 — Yuvadarshan Vasai, the youth commission of the Diocese of Vasai, conducted its annual Lenten Taizé Prayer Services across the four deaneries of Papdy, Sandor, Nandakhal, and Nirmal, from March 10 to April 4, 2025. These prayer sessions were designed to deepen spiritual reflection during the Lenten season and to prepare the youth of the diocese for Easter through meditative worship enriched with soulful Taizé music, scripture readings, and contemplative silence.
Led by Yuvadarshan Vasai, this initiative provided a spiritually enriching Lenten experience, focusing on introspection, repentance, and growth in faith. This year’s Taizé Prayer Services saw vibrant participation from youth across the diocese. Each gathering featured heartfelt choir performances that cultivated an atmosphere of prayerful reflection and communion with God.
The services were held across four weekends during Lent. The Taize prayer service for Nandakhal Deanery was held on March 10 at Shirlai Parish. In the Papdy Deanery, the service was held on March 21 at Remedy Parish.
In the Sandor Deanery, the Taize prayer service was held on March 28 at Gokhiware Parish, while in the Nirmal Deanery, it was held on April 4 at Gass Parish.
Each prayer service was organised with the active involvement and support of the host parish’s youth group. Through a serene blend of song, silence, and scripture, the Taizé Prayer Services invited young people to engage in meaningful prayer and cultivate a deeper, personal relationship with God.
As the Lenten season calls the faithful to draw closer to the mystery of Easter, these sessions reminded all present that the most profound encounters with the divine often arise not from grand declarations but from the quiet stillness of contemplation.
