World Day for Consecrated Life Observed in the Archdiocese of Bhopal

Bhopal, February 8, 2025 – The World Day for Consecrated Life was observed in the Archdiocese of Bhopal on February 2, 2025, with a meaningful celebration at the BSSS IAS Campus in Arera Colony. Approximately 125 religious men and women from the Archdiocese, all members of the CRI-Bhopal Unit, participated in the event.

The celebration began with an insightful session by Fr. Joshy CMI, Rector of Samanvaya. In his address, Fr. Joshy spoke about the relevance of consecrated life in today's world which is experiencing various challenges from within and without. Drawing from Pope Francis’ latest encyclical, Dilexit Nos (He Loved Us), he inspired attendees with his reflections. He also emphasized "fluidic fidelity" or superficiality as a key challenge in modern consecrated life.

Following Fr. Joshy's talk, a brief business meeting was held, after which the Holy Eucharist was celebrated. The Mass was presided over by Fr. Inigo IMS, with Fr. Kapil SJ and Fr. Johnson CMI, Executive Secretary of CRI MP Region, as concelebrants. In his homily, Fr. Kapil highlighted the significance of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord and also urged religious men and women to deepen their commitment to holiness in their consecrated life.

The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch, after which attendees departed with a renewed commitment to their vocation. The organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Fr. John PJ, Director of BSSS IAS, for his generous support in facilitating the event.
