THE INCORRUPT BODY OF ST. AVILA WILL SOON BE SHOWN IN PUBLIC

The incorrupt body of St. Teresa of Avila will be publicly displayed for veneration from May 11 to 25, 2025, at the Basilica of the Annunciation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. This announcement comes from the Discalced Carmelites of Salamanca, coinciding with the anniversary of St. Teresa's canonization alongside four other saints. This rare event has only taken place in 1582, 1760, and 1914. The silver urn holding her remains will be placed in the church’s transept, beneath a protective glass dome, while the marble tomb will be open for viewing in the upper alcove.
