Vellore, Tamil Nadu, November 22, 2025: St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School in Chettupattu Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, administered by the Sacred Heart Brothers, celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a programme that highlighted five decades of educational service and community engagement.

The celebration opened with a solemn Holy Mass led by His Lordship Dr. Ambrose Puthenveedu Bichimuttu, Bishop of Vellore. In his homily, he stressed that education is “not merely an act of brainwashing; it is a noble mission that forms a society rooted in justice, honesty, and truth.” His message reaffirmed the school’s mission of nurturing values alongside academic learning.

A key moment of the event was the release of the Golden Jubilee Report, which documents the school’s progress over the past 50 years, including its achievements, heritage, and the commitment of its founders. Br. Dr I. Mathalaimuthu, SHJ released the report, marking an important milestone in the institution’s history.

The school honoured retired teachers, the Correspondent, the Headmaster, Brothers who served in the institution, and alumni for their contributions to its growth. Each honouree received a warm reception and shared reflections that brought a sense of pride and emotion to the gathering.

Students added colour to the celebration through a series of cultural performances. Traditional and contemporary dance, music, and artistic presentations showcased the talent and creativity nurtured within the school.

In his address of gratitude, Br. S. Jeyaraj, SHJ thanked the Bishop, Brothers, teachers, students, parents, alumni, and the local community for their support. He acknowledged their role in shaping the school’s 50-year journey and in making the Golden Jubilee celebration a memorable occasion.
