Srikakulam, December 26, 2025 — The Cathedral of the Srikakulam Diocese witnessed large participation of the faithful during the Midnight Christmas Holy Eucharist marking the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Midnight Mass was presided over by Rayarala Vijaya Kumar, Bishop of the Srikakulam Diocese. The liturgy was conducted in a prayerful atmosphere, reflecting the significance of Christmas in the life of the Church.
The celebration began with a brief welcome, inviting the faithful to mark the feast in gratitude and reflection. The singing Mass and the Christmas homily formed the central part of the liturgy.
In his homily, the Bishop reflected on the birth of Jesus and its connection to the Resurrection, highlighting the continuity of God’s plan of salvation. He underlined the meaning of Christmas as a message of hope, peace and faith.
The congregation participated actively in the prayers and hymns throughout the liturgy.
At the conclusion of the Mass, thanks were expressed to the Bishop, the concelebrating priests, members of the Parish Council and all those who contributed to the organisation of the celebration.
The Christmas observance concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Bishop, marking the spirit of unity and fellowship associated with the festival.
