Bangalore, Nov 27, 2025: In a vibrant and deeply reverent gathering, all Christian students, their families, and the staff of Sophia High School, Bangalore, assembled before the open stage on the school campus on 22 November 2025 to solemnly celebrate the Great Jubilee Year of the Lord 2025. The celebration was graced by Fr. Maria Anthony, Director of Paalanaa Bhavana, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre, as well as Director of the Archdiocesan Communications Centre and AVE Studios, Bangalore; and Fr Balraj Joseph, Assistant Financial Administrator of the Archdiocese and Secretary for the Commission of Ecology, Bangalore.
The community commenced a prayerful procession carrying a banner depicting Jesus Christ the Universal King, with the Great Jubilee Year 2025 logo on either side of the image. The procession advanced with hymns that beautifully echoed the Jubilee Year’s theme, “Pilgrims of Hope.”
As the procession entered the hall, the Jubilee Anthem, “Like a flame my hope is burning, May my soul arise to you,” resounded as the entrance hymn for the Holy Mass. The congregation then united their voices in praying the Great Jubilee Year 2025 Prayer: “Father in heaven may the faith you have given us in your Son…”
In his homily, the main celebrant offered a rich and stirring reflection, presenting Jesus as the King of Kings over every individual, family, institution, and community. He also reflected on nurturing an inner thirst for Jesus and carrying His message into the world not only through spoken words but through authentic, meaningful action. He emphasised the profound significance of the Great Jubilee Year of the Lord, calling the faithful to honour Jesus our Saviour and Lord with renewed devotion.
The congregation responded with deep reverence and heartfelt gratitude. Many expressed that it was “a beautiful and grace-filled Mass to celebrate the Jubilee Year of the Lord,” while others shared that “everybody experienced the presence of Jesus Christ.” Several described it as “a day filled with grace and blessings,” capturing the spiritual richness of the celebration.
