Mangalore, January 16, 2025: The Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education® will host the Sandesha Awards 2025 on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Sandesha Institute Grounds in Mangalore. The ceremony will celebrate the remarkable contributions of individuals across art, culture, education, and more. The event will be presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary, with Shri Dinesh Gundu, Honourable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest.
Other distinguished dignitaries include Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shimoga; Most Rev. Dr. Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Bishop of Belthangady; Dr. Sudeep Paul, MSFS, Director of Sandesha; Mr. Roy Castelino and Rev. Fr. Ivan Pinto, Trustees of the Institute; and Shri Damodar Shetty, Chairperson, Sandesha Awards Jury.
Awardees
Awardees this year include B.R. Laxman Rao (Kannada literature), Iriene Pinto (Konkani literature) and Ganesh Amin Sankamar (Tulu literature). Other notable honorees are D.V. Rajashekar for his contributions to Media, Roshan D’Souza for Konkani Music, Girish Kasaravalli for his work in Art, and Dr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi for Education. The Special Recognition Award will be presented to K.V. Rao. Special Honorary Awards will be presented to Michael D’Souza for his Humanitarian Service and to Remona Evette Pereira for her exceptional talent in Bharatanatyam.
Established in 1989 and registered as a charitable institution in 1991, Sandesha Foundation has long been dedicated to fostering harmony and excellence through its support for art, culture, education, and folklore. The Sandesha Awards 2025 aims to recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their respective fields.
