Sitarganj, Bareilly, 2 May, 2025 — The Catholic Diocese of Bareilly marked a double celebration this year as it observed the Silver Jubilee of Anugrah Ashram, Sitarganj, and the Jubilee of Diocesan Catechists as part of the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope.
Anugrah Ashram commemorated 25 years of spiritual formation and outreach from 25–27 April, with a three-day Vachanotsav retreat. Led by Fr. Rudolf Rodrigues, the Ashram’s founding director, the event welcomed clergy, religious, and lay faithful for days of prayer, Scripture reflection, and communal renewal.
The celebration concluded with a solemn Jubilee Mass presided over by Bishop Ignatius D’Souza. During the liturgy, Bishop D’Souza specially honoured diocesan catechists, recognising their tireless service and unwavering witness to the Gospel. Each catechist received a commemorative gift as a token of gratitude and encouragement for their continued mission.
Fr. Alok Nayak, Diocesan Jubilee Coordinator, expressed deep appreciation for the contributions of both the Ashram and the catechists, noting their vital role in building a vibrant and faith-filled Church community.
The twin jubilees highlighted the Diocese’s ongoing commitment to evangelisation, formation, and lay participation in the mission of the Church.
