M. D. Vincent Selected for James Alberione Award

Hyderabad, August 4, 2026: Communication and media professional Moses Doraboina DePaul Vincent, popularly known as M. D. Vincent, has been selected for the prestigious James Alberione Award for his contribution to media production and environmental communication, particularly through his acclaimed series The Ten Green Commandments.

Vincent, a scriptwriter, producer, director, author and trainer, has extensive experience in media production, journalism, public relations and communications. He has produced audio-visual programmes, documentaries, advertisements, television programmes and music albums.

His most significant media initiative is The Ten Green Commandments, a 21-episode environmental television series for which he served as scriptwriter, producer and director. Inspired by the ecological vision of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, the series seeks to promote care for creation and greater environmental responsibility through accessible audio-visual storytelling.

The Telugu version of the series, Pachani Padi Aagnalu, was telecast on Divyavani TV, while an English version was subsequently produced to extend its reach to a wider audience. The programme has also been made available through digital platforms.

The series has received appreciation from the Telugu Catholic Bishops’ Council, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India and the Vatican for its contribution to environmental awareness.

Vincent’s contribution to media extends beyond environmental programming. He has authored six booklets, contributed articles to newspapers and organized national and international seminars, conferences and communication programmes. His professional work has also included training in communication, public speaking and personality development.

His contribution to literature and communication has earned him several recognitions. He received a State Felicitation Award in 2024 for his contribution to literature.

The James Alberione Award will be conferred on Vincent during the 31st National Convention of Christian Journalists, organized by the Indian Catholic Press Association (ICPA) in Bangalore.

The award is instituted in memory of Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Society of St Paul and a pioneer in the use of media for evangelization and social communication. It honours individuals who have made significant contributions to media while promoting human values and positive change in society.

Vincent’s recognition places particular emphasis on his use of media to translate the ecological concerns of Laudato Si’ into an accessible message for a wider audience, demonstrating the potential of communication media to foster environmental awareness and responsibility.
