Jubilee of Vocations Celebrated with the Theme “Go, Ignite Hope” in Goa

Goa, October 4, 2025– The Diocesan Office for the Promotion of Vocations (DOPV) joyfully celebrated the Jubilee of Vocations under the theme “Vochat, Bhorvanso Pettoyat” (Go, Ignite Hope), spreading a message of faith, hope, and commitment among catechism students and parishioners across North Goa.

The celebration was held simultaneously in eight parishes — Immaculate Conception Church, Panaji; Holy Cross Church, Santa Cruz; Our Lady of Penha de Franca Church, Penha de Franca; St. Alex Church, Calangute; Mother of God Church, Pomburpa; Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Valpoi; Our Lady of Rosary Church, Mandrem; and St. Joseph’s Church, Pernem.

Eight dedicated teams comprising members of the DOPV Executive Team, vocation promoters from various religious congregations, and diocesan priests animated the event in each parish. They were warmly received by the Parish Catechetical Associations, who helped organise the sessions that began with prayer, song, and a short introduction to the day’s theme.

An informative presentation on the different types of vocations in the Catholic Church helped participants understand the many ways of responding to God’s call. Personal vocation stories shared by priests and religious added inspiration and authenticity to the celebration, offering living examples of faith in action.

The highlight of the day was the screening of two creative productions — a skit titled “Bhorvanxeachi Divtti” and a theme song “Vochat, Bhorvanso Pettoyat”. Both were written by Rev. Fr. Tomas Lobo, Chairperson of the DOPV and Episcopal Vicar for the North Zone. The song’s music was arranged by Rev. Fr. John Albano Fernandes and performed by Tanish Ovila Gama and Leroy Gonzag Sequeira, with videography and editing by Johnny Pereira of Exodus Studio.

Participants were invited to reflect prayerfully on their own vocations by writing their thoughts and intentions on slips distributed during the event. Each received a bookmark featuring the Prayer for Vocations as a memento.

The celebration concluded with a solemn Eucharistic Mass, followed by words of gratitude from the Parish Catechetical Associations, who thanked the DOPV members for making the Jubilee of Vocations a meaningful and spiritually enriching experience.
