Jubilee of Crusaders Celebrated with Devotion and Joy in Buxar Diocese

Buxar, 8 April 2025: The Diocese of Buxar marked the Jubilee of Crusaders with a vibrant two-day celebration on 5 and 6 April 2025 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Buxar, a Shrine of Pilgrimage for the Jubilee Year. Organised by the Crusader Movement and the Liturgy Commission of the diocese, in collaboration with Krusveer animators from various parishes, the event brought together 235 Crusaders and 25 animators.

The gathering aimed to strengthen the spiritual commitment of children under the theme: “Crusader, you are a pilgrim of hope” (Krusveer, tum asha ke teerth yatri ho). The Jubilee celebrations included three major components: a procession with rosary and lighted candles, the Sacrament of Confession and Eucharistic Adoration, and catechetical inputs through cultural presentations.

Fr. Alwin, the Crusader Director of Buxar Diocese, led the coordination of the event alongside Fr. Vijay Bhaskar, Secretary of the Liturgy Commission, and Fr. Anil Benet Cruz, the Jubilee Coordinator. Fr. Sebastian from the Archdiocese of Patna, designated as the Contact Person for the Jubilee, served as the main resource person.

The children participated in a solemn Jubilee procession around the church, praying the rosary and carrying lighted candles. At the conclusion of the procession, Bishop James Shekhar of Buxar addressed the Crusaders, praising their joyful spirit and urging them to grow closer to Jesus and love the Church more deeply.

The children then gathered for Eucharistic Adoration, during which many experienced God’s love and mercy through the Sacrament of Confession. The evening featured a cultural night, where the Crusaders showcased a variety of performances celebrating the Jubilee spirit.

Leading engaging sessions, Fr. Sebastian explored the meaning of the Jubilee on the second day and highlighted the vital role children play in spreading grace, hope, and love in today’s world. A solemn Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Bishop James Shekhar, marked a fitting and grace-filled conclusion to the event.

As a memento of the occasion, participants received Jubilee souvenir rosaries. The joyful spirit and enthusiastic participation reflected the growing faith of these young Crusaders, ready to radiate Christ’s love as true Pilgrims of Hope.
