Jhansi, October 29, 2026: St Jude’s Shrine in Jhansi marked its 60th anniversary with its annual novena and feast, drawing pilgrims and Church leaders to celebrate six decades of devotion to St Jude Thaddeus, patron of lost causes.
Established in 1966 through the initiative of the late Bishop F. X. Fenech, the shrine has grown into a major centre of pilgrimage, attracting devotees from across India who seek the saint’s intercession.
The Diamond Jubilee celebrations featured the Eucharistic liturgy, prayers, hymns and a traditional procession carrying the statue and sacred relic of St Jude. The observances brought together the faithful, clergy and religious leaders in thanksgiving for the shrine’s six decades of spiritual service.
Cardinal Fillipe was the principal celebrant of the festal Mass, concelebrated by bishops from the Agra region and an archbishop.
Over the years, the shrine has become a destination for pilgrims seeking comfort and hope amid personal struggles. The jubilee celebrations recalled its history and the enduring devotion of generations of faithful who continue to turn to St Jude in times of difficulty
