Family Commission of North East India Regional Bishops’ Council Holds Annual Meeting in Assam

Guwahati, October 20, 2025 — The Family Commission of the North East India Regional Bishops’ Council (NEIRBC) organised its Annual Meeting 2025 at Inspiration, Kharghuli, Guwahati, Assam, from 15 to 17 October. The three-day gathering brought together 31 representatives and leaders involved in family ministry from nine dioceses across Northeast India for planning, evaluation, and capacity building.

Bishop Joachim Walder, Auxiliary Bishop of Aizawl and Chairman of the NEIRBC Family Commission, and Fr Arulraj CSC, Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Family, were present throughout the meeting, offering guidance and encouragement.

The programme began with a Eucharistic celebration, after which participants engaged in sessions on pastoral planning, presentation of reports, and the development of strategies for strengthening family ministry. Fr Arulraj conducted an in-depth session on remote marriage preparation, highlighting its growing importance in pastoral care.
