Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, April 1, 2025 – Most Rev. Dr. Jaya Rao Polimera, Bishop of Eluru and Apostolic Administrator of Visakhapatnam, celebrated his 33rd Priestly Ordination Anniversary on April 1 at Carmel Bhavan, Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. The event, marked by a solemn Eucharistic celebration and a felicitation programme, brought together clergy, religious, and laity from across the Diocese of Eluru.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera, with Fr. B. Raju, diocesan procurator, delivering the homily. In his sermon, Fr. Raju emphasised that the bishop's journey of 33 years in the priesthood is a testament to God’s grace and a blessing for the diocese. Following the Mass, a felicitation programme honoured the bishop’s service and contributions. Fr. Bala, Vicar General of the Diocese, expressed gratitude for the bishop’s leadership and commitment to the growth and spiritual nourishment of the diocese.
The anniversary celebration also witnessed several significant events. An audio CD was released to commemorate the occasion. In a gesture of support for women's empowerment, 15 tailoring machines were gifted to the girls of Morning Star Gruhini Centre. Additionally, a new water centre was inaugurated at Eluru Cathedral to benefit the local community. The day also marked the inauguration and blessing of a new Priestly Home at Fathimanagar Parish, further strengthening the diocesan infrastructure.
The celebration concluded with heartfelt appreciation for Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera’s unwavering dedication and service to the Church, highlighting his instrumental role in fostering development and spiritual growth in the Diocese of Eluru.
