Bareilly, U.P., February 28, 2025: The Diocese of Bareilly marked the Jubilee of Healthcare Facilitators with a number of events across the diocese on February 23. In the Bareilly and Shahjahanpur Deaneries of the diocese, the Jubilee was celebrated with a grand event on February 27, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Cathedral, Bareilly. Bishop Ignatius D’Souza presided over the event, which recognised the dedication of healthcare professionals from these two deaneries of the diocese. Clergy members, religious sisters, and medical professionals from across the diocese attended the gathering, which featured prayers, cultural performances, and discussions on healthcare as a ministry.
The event commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration led by Bishop Ignatius, setting a spiritual tone for the occasion. A prayer dance by deaf and mute students of Mother Teresa School, Bareilly, symbolising service through faith, deeply moved the audience. A Jubilee video presentation further paid tribute to the tireless efforts of healthcare workers across the diocese.
In his keynote address, Bishop Ignatius spoke on “Healthcare as a Ministry of Compassion,” emphasising the moral and ethical dimensions of medical service. A panel discussion followed, addressing challenges and opportunities in modern healthcare, particularly within faith-based service.
Senior healthcare professionals shared personal testimonies, offering insights into their journeys of service and sacrifice. In recognition of their dedication and service, the diocese presented tokens of appreciation to all healthcare workers present at the event.
The event culminated with a fellowship dinner that fostered camaraderie among participants.
Fr. Alok Nayak, Jubilee Coordinator of the Diocese of Bareilly, thanked all contributors for making the event a meaningful tribute to the unwavering service of healthcare workers.
