New Delhi, December 22, 2025: Members of the Bajrang Dal allegedly confronted a group of Christian women and children in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area on Monday, accusing them of religious proselytisation and forcing them to leave the locality, an incident captured in a video that has since circulated widely on social media.
According to the footage, the women and children were wearing Santa Claus hats when Bajrang Dal activists approached them and objected to their presence in a public space. The activists claimed that wearing Santa hats and interacting with people amounted to attempts at converting others to Christianity and insisted that such activities should not take place in public.
The video also shows heated exchanges, with the women appearing visibly distressed as they were asked to leave the area. Social media users alleged that the group was harassed during the confrontation, though these claims could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.
There was no immediate response from the Bajrang Dal regarding the incident, and local police officials have not confirmed whether a formal complaint was lodged or whether any action has been initiated.
The incident comes amid a series of similar confrontations reported in different parts of the country during the Christmas season, where individuals celebrating Christmas in public spaces have faced allegations of proselytisation by right-wing groups.
