Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore Invites Faithful to Fifth National March for Life 2026

Chennai, July 18, 2026: The Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore has invited families, youth and all those committed to safeguarding the dignity of human life to participate in the Fifth National March for Life 2026, scheduled to be held on August 8 and 9 at Stella Maris College, Chennai.


Extending the invitation, the organisers described the gathering as an opportunity to deepen awareness of the God-given gift of life and encourage participants to uphold and protect it through prayer, witness and public engagement.


"It gives me immense joy to invite all of you to the Fifth National March for Life 2026, which will be hosted by the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore on eighth and ninth of August at Stella Maris College, Chennai. I think this is a moment of grace for all of us to come to know the importance of God-given gift of life, and to sustain it and make it known to each and everyone so that we save God, we protect, and we make the life ever-growing, always in the society, in the name of God the Father, the giver of life."


The celebrations will begin on August 8 with a Mini Marathon for Life at 5.30 a.m. Further details regarding the marathon will be shared separately. At 9 a.m., Eucharistic Adoration and the Pro-Life Exhibition will be inaugurated. The exhibition will remain open throughout the event on both August 8 and 9.


A special invitation has also been extended to schools, colleges and other institutions to bring their students to visit the exhibition.


The evening of August 8 will feature the Jericho March within the Stella Maris College campus.


On August 9, a special gathering for the youth will be held at 10 a.m. From 2 p.m., participants will come together for a public meeting, a pro-life awareness rally and the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist with bishops and priests from across India joining in prayer and witness.


Inviting wider participation, the organisers said, "Therefore, I extend my heartfelt invitation to each and every one of you. Come with your families, with parish communities, with your friends and your institutions. Let us stand together as one to celebrate, protect and promote the dignity of every human life."


The Fifth National March for Life 2026 aims to bring together people from across the country in a shared witness to the value and dignity of every human life through prayer, awareness and public participation.
