Archdiocese of Hyderabad Celebrates Golden Jubilee of St. Anthony’s Shrine, Mettuguda

Hyderabad, Aug. 27, 2025: The Archdiocese of Hyderabad celebrated the Golden Jubilee of St. Anthony’s Shrine, Mettuguda, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, with a solemn Eucharistic celebration led by His Eminence Cardinal Poola Anthony, Archbishop of Hyderabad. The event, held at the shrine premises, brought together clergy, religious, and hundreds of faithful from across the archdiocese to mark 50 years of faith and devotion at this historic spiritual centre.

In his homily, Cardinal Poola Anthony emphasised the enduring significance of St. Anthony’s witness of faith and charity, urging the faithful to live as authentic disciples of Christ within their families and communities. He also reflected on the role that the shrine has played in deepening the spiritual life of countless devotees over the past five decades.


Following the Eucharistic celebration, a vibrant cultural programme was presented. The event concluded with a fellowship meal, fostering unity among all parishioners of the shrine and showcasing the rich life of the parish community.


The Golden Jubilee stands as a historic milestone for St. Anthony’s Shrine, reaffirming its place as a spiritual home for thousands who continue to seek blessings and guidance through the intercession of St. Anthony.
