Goa, March 20, 2026: Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão Archbishop of Goa and Daman has extended warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community, urging greater friendship, mutual respect and unity among all people.
On behalf of the Catholic community of Goa and Daman, and together with Auxiliary Bishop Simião Fernandes, he conveyed his wishes to Muslims celebrating the festival. He acknowledged their prayers during the sacred period, especially for God’s forgiveness, mercy, peace and blessings for all, including the nation.
Highlighting shared human and spiritual values, he emphasised the importance of compassion, generosity and unity. He encouraged people of all faiths to continue walking together in friendship and mutual respect, fostering understanding for the common good.
He also assured prayers for peace beyond national boundaries, particularly for regions affected by unrest. He expressed hope for lasting peace and stability in the Gulf countries, noting that the spirit of Eid can serve as a guiding light for harmony among all peoples.
He concluded his message with “Eid Mubarak”, expressing solidarity and goodwill with the Muslim community.
