Youth Alive in Christ 2025 Unites Vasai Diocese in Faith and Hope

Vasai, February 11, 2025 – Yuvadarshan, the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Vasai, organized the Youth Alive in Christ 2025 event on Sunday, February 9, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Chulne. Held in collaboration with the parish youth group, the charismatic gathering honored St. Gonsalo Garcia, the patron saint of Vasai Diocese, under the theme “Hope never disappoints” (Romans 5:5).

Marking its third consecutive year, the event also aimed to foster vocations among young Catholics. The half-day program, which began at 3:30 p.m. and concluded by 9:00 p.m., commenced with a solemn procession carrying the Jubilee Cross, the Bible, and statues of Mother Mary and St. Gonsalo Garcia. The Chulne Jesuz Band led a dynamic praise and worship session, setting an atmosphere of faith and devotion.

As part of the Jubilee Year 2025 celebrations, Fr. Robert Gonsalves, the Jubilee Year Coordinator, addressed the youth, emphasising the significance of the Holy Year and inspiring them to strengthen their commitment to faith. The program continued with animated group activities designed to enhance spiritual connection and engagement.

A special segment focused on environmental stewardship, with dignitaries symbolically watering saplings as a commitment to caring for creation. The event also included a Felicitation Ceremony, recognising youth and leaders for their dedication to the initiative.

A key highlight was the presence of newly appointed Bishop Thomas D’Souza of the Diocese of Vasai, who delivered a heartfelt message encouraging youth participation in the Church and society.

The event culminated in a Jericho March, a powerful procession of faith and prayer, followed by an electrifying performance by the YU4C Gospel Band, which energised the gathering with music, dance, and worship.

Bishop Thomas D’Souza concluded the event with the Benediction and Final Blessing, sending the youth forth with renewed faith and purpose. The Youth Alive in Christ 2025 celebration served as a profound expression of unity, joy, and commitment, reinforcing the spirit of the Jubilee Year 2025.
