Jabalpur, January 25, 2026:
Authentic witness, fidelity to vows, and responsible engagement with society formed the core message of a one-day seminar on consecrated life organised by the Conference of Religious India (CRI), Jabalpur Unit, at St. Norbert Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Napier Town.
The seminar brought together 45 temporarily professed brothers and sisters from different congregations of the diocese, offering them an opportunity to reflect on the demands and relevance of religious life in today’s rapidly changing world.
Addressing the participants, Ms. Vinayika, Senior Treasury Officer of Jabalpur District, spoke on living the Catholic faith in a secular environment, urging young religious to remain socially conscious, practise integrity, and serve as credible witnesses of hope.
In a subsequent session, Fr. Thomas Alva Edison, Provisor of St. Norbert Abbey, Jamtara, highlighted the significance of the formative years, stressing commitment to religious vows and the need for sustained spiritual growth amid contemporary challenges.
The programme concluded with appreciation to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary community for hosting the event and supporting its smooth organisation.
