St. Joseph's Church, Greater Noida, Commemorates Its Silver Jubilee with Grand Celebrations

Greater Noida, February 18, 2025 – St. Joseph Church, Greater Noida, celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the St. Joseph Mission with a day of spiritual and cultural significance on February 9. The event commenced with the Holy Mass, inaugurated by a captivating welcome dance performed by the brothers and sisters from Chhota Nagpur. The celebration was graced by three Archbishops and several priests, making it a momentous occasion for the parish community.

Reverend Dr. Anil J.T. Couto, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Delhi; Reverend Dr. Raphy Manjaly, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agra; and Reverend Kuriakose Bharanikulangara, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Faridabad, led the congregation in prayer and thanksgiving. Parish Priest Reverend Father Andrew Correa extended a warm welcome to all present for the Eucharistic celebration. Mrs. Sindhu Thomas recounted the church’s 25-year journey, highlighting its growth and contributions to the community. The Holy Mass was solemnly offered by the main celebrant, Reverend Dr. Anil Couto.

Following the Mass, a vibrant cultural programme showcased the rich traditions of the parish. The women’s group enthralled the audience with the traditional Margam Kali dance, while the youth of St. Joseph Church performed an engaging dance drama. Catechism children delighted the gathering with a lively performance.

During the celebration, the Archbishops, former and current parish priests, assistant priests, congregation superiors, founding parishioners, and distinguished guests were honoured with shawls and mementos as tokens of appreciation. A special souvenir commemorating the Silver Jubilee was unveiled by the chief guest, Reverend Dr. Anil Couto.

A moment of great pride for the parish came when Reverend Father Andrew Correa announced that Pope Francis had bestowed a Papal Blessing on the occasion of St. Joseph Church, Greater Noida’s Silver Jubilee. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Reverend Father Andrew Correa, followed by a community fellowship meal.
