Bhubaneswar, January 29, 2025 - The Youth Commission of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) officially launched WITNESS 2025, the National Youth Convention, during the 36th Plenary Assembly held in Bhubaneswar.
The announcement was made in the presence of His Eminence Filipe Cardinal Neri Ferrão, President of the CCBI; His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias; Archbishop Anil Couto, Secretary General of the CCBI; Rev. Dr. Stephen Alathara, Deputy Secretary General of the CCBI; Bishop Ignatius D’Souza, Chairman of the Youth Commission; Bishop Jayarao Polimera; Executive Secretary Fr. Chetan; and Associate Secretary Fr. Dominic.
Scheduled to take place from October 1–5, 2025, at the Divine Retreat Centre in Kerala, WITNESS 2025 aims to bring together young Catholics from across India for a transformative experience of faith, fellowship, and social action. The convention will provide a platform for youth to deepen their relationship with Christ, engage in meaningful discussions on contemporary issues, and explore ways to serve their communities.
This initiative underscores the Church’s unwavering commitment to guiding and empowering young Catholics, ensuring they become active contributors to both society and the faith. By providing a space for spiritual growth, intellectual engagement, and leadership development, WITNESS 2025 seeks to shape a generation rooted in Christian values and social responsibility.
