Lucknow, July 26, 2025 – The Lucknow Diocesan Youth Commission (LDYC) under the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) hosted its Youth Council Meeting at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Lucknow on July 26, 2025. The gathering turned into a dynamic platform of bold ideas, fresh energy, and real action plans for the future of youth ministry.
The meeting saw parish leaders and youth representatives actively sharing ideas, debating challenges, and brainstorming practical solutions to make youth ministry more impactful. There was a clear focus on what today’s generation truly needs – addressing mental health issues, digital distractions, career struggles, and the need for leadership opportunities.
One of the biggest highlights of the meeting was the announcement of India’s first-ever Diocesan Youth Memorandum.
Parishes presented reports of their work, showcasing creative initiatives, social projects, and the challenges young people face today. The discussions were not just formal talks – they were full of passion, energy, and a determination to fight for the future of youth ministry.
The DEXCO emphasised the importance of building a youth movement that is modern, faith-driven, and socially active, focusing on service projects like blood donation drives, skill-building workshops, and connecting with senior youth to mentor the next generation.
The meeting ended with a strong call to action – youth must lead with courage, unity, and a heart for service. With this vision, Lucknow Diocese is ready to inspire and lead not just in the Agra Region but across India.
