Loyola College to Host National Seminar on the Dignity and Sanctity of Human Life

Chennai, July 18, 2026: Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai, will host a national seminar on "Life: Promoting the Dignity and Sanctity of Human Life" on July 21, bringing together Church leaders, medical professionals, academicians and pro-life advocates to reflect on the value of human life and strengthen awareness on life-related issues.

The day-long seminar, to be held at De Nobili Hall from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., is being organised by Pro-Life Loyola, the Madras Social Service Society (MSSS) and the Students' Council in collaboration with the Pro-Life India Foundation. The programme will be held under the blessings of Dr. Antony Robinson, SJ, Rector of Loyola College.

The seminar will feature keynote addresses by Milagres Pereira, Director of Human Life International (HLI), Goa, and Fr. Victor Ramesh, Director of the Madras Social Service Society. The speakers are expected to examine the ethical, social and pastoral dimensions of safeguarding the dignity and sanctity of human life.

Medical professionals Dr. Cynthia Alexander (MD, DGO), Dr. Julius Louis Leveil (MBBS) and Dr. Bennita A (MBBS) will also deliver expert presentations, offering medical and scientific perspectives on issues related to the protection and promotion of human life.

The seminar is being convened by Dr. P. Nallamuthu, with Dr. J. Justin Rayappa, Prof. Mathew Thomas Cruz and Sebastian Ashish, Founder of the Pro-Life India Foundation, serving as co-conveners. The organising secretaries are Dr. T. I. Naviniraj, Dr. M. Raja and Dr. M. Balachandar.

According to the organisers, participation in the seminar is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided for all registered participants.

The initiative reflects Loyola College's continuing commitment to promoting respect for the dignity of every human person through dialogue, education and collaboration between the Church, academia and healthcare professionals.
