Bengaluru, July 24, 2025 : A one-day Liturgical Seminar was held at Subodhana, the Karnataka Regional Pastoral Centre in Bengaluru, on 10 July, for the Diocesan Secretaries and Joint Secretaries of the Commission for Liturgy. The event aimed to deepen both the understanding and the practice of liturgical ministry across the dioceses of Karnataka, while also reinforcing the implementation of the Karnataka Regional Pastoral Plan.
Participants from seven out of the ten Latin dioceses in Karnataka took part in the seminar, contributing actively to discussions and deliberations throughout the day. Proceedings began on a reflective note with a prayer hymn led by Fr. Nelson D’Souza.
Fr. Vinay Kumar welcomed the attendees and introduced Fr. Moncy, SDB, who offered an insightful reflection on the vital role of liturgy in the life and ministry of priests. He emphasised that the liturgy stands as the summit and source of the Church’s life, serving as the primary means by which Christ sanctifies His people.
Fr. Joseph Marie later shared his own pastoral experiences and liturgical insights, inspiring secretaries to engage in their ministry with renewed dedication and enthusiasm.
A second session allowed for questions and clarifications, with participants receiving practical and meaningful responses. Fr. Anil Joel Prasad then led a session on the Karnataka Regional Pastoral Plan, outlining how diocesan secretaries could synchronise their efforts with the broader regional framework.
The seminar concluded with expressions of gratitude from Fr. Vinay Kumar, who also introduced the members of the Karnataka Regional Liturgy Core Committee. The day ended on a warm and informal note, with participants sharing fellowship over tea.
Fr. Vinay Kumar extended heartfelt thanks to the Chairman, Dr Anthony Swamy, and to Fr. Anil Joel Prasad for their continued guidance and support.
