Karwar Diocese Inaugurates Journey of the Regional Youth Cross

Karwar, July 1, 2025: The solemn inauguration of the journey of the Regional Youth Cross took place on 29th June 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mundalli, in Bhatkal Deanery. The event marked a significant moment of spiritual awakening and youth collaboration.

Fr. Silvan, the Youth Director, along with members of the Diocesan Executive Committee (DEXCO), ceremoniously handed over the Cross to Bhatkal Deanery. A prayerful procession followed, drawing the faithful together in reverence and devotion as the Cross was brought into the church premises.

Dean Fr. Lawrence presided over the gathering, leading the assembly in prayer and reflection. The lighting of the traditional lamp added a solemn and celebratory dimension to the occasion, symbolising the light of Christ being carried forward through the youth.

The parish youth led a meaningful prayer service, highlighting the significance of the Cross in the lives of young believers. Their active involvement testified to the vibrant faith life of the deanery’s youth.

Around 75 young people and 60 parishioners participated enthusiastically, joined by several nuns from across the deanery. Their gracious presence and prayerful support added to the spiritual depth of the event.

Deanery Youth Coordinator Fr. Viliet expressed heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the success of the event. Parish Priest Fr. Prem D’Souza also extended his gratitude, particularly to the youth, who turned out in large numbers and demonstrated commendable zeal.
