Karnataka Regional Youth Commission Hosts ‘Reconnect’ Session on Lent as a Time of Grace

Bangalore, March 29, 2025: The Karnataka Regional Youth Commission (KRYC), in collaboration with YOUCAT, conducted the second session of its spiritual interactive series, 'Reconnect – Listen, Live & Lend', on March 26, 2025. The online session, titled 'Lent – Time of Grace', was led by Fr. Vinay Kumar from the Diocese of Chikmagalur. It focused on the significance of the Lenten season and the importance of maintaining a strong connection with God. The event brought together around 50 youth members from across Karnataka, along with senior KRYC leaders.

During the session, Fr. Vinay Kumar emphasised how joyful and supportive youth must be during Lent, quoting Pope Francis's call to be happy while fasting. He also highlighted the power of prayer and encouraged participants to develop a habit of praying for others, including those who have wronged them. His insights aimed to guide the participants in making their Lenten journey more meaningful.

Following the talk, an interactive question-and-answer session allowed participants to engage deeper with the topics discussed. Fr. Vinay Kumar concluded the session with a reflection and final blessing.

Key dignitaries present for the session included Rev. Fr. Lourd Raj, Regional Youth Director; Sr. Molly, Regional Youth Lady Animator; and Ms. Vileena Gonsalves, KRYC Coordinator, along with other council members. Ms. Jassica Santhmayor, Secretary, KRYC, moderated the session, and Ms. Vileena Gonsalves delivered the vote of thanks.

The second session of "Reconnect" reinforced the importance of Lent as a time for spiritual growth. It encouraged the youth who participated, to live this sacred season with renewed faith and purpose.
