20 April, 2025:
On this third day, Jesus draws our gaze to the faithful — those who love Him sincerely but silently, living mercy in small, hidden ways. Their quiet witness is what holds the Church together when the world shakes.
Intention: All Devout and Faithful Souls (Diary 1214) “Today bring to Me all devout and faithful souls, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. These souls brought Me consolation on the Way of the Cross. They were that drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness.”
Prayer:
Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wondrous love for the Heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection so that they may never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.
Reflection:
They are the people who fill pews without fanfare. Who pray quietly, forgive daily, and serve unnoticed. These devout and faithful souls — the heartbeat of the Church — may never go viral, but they go deep.
Jesus saw them. And in the middle of His Passion, they gave Him hope. St. Faustina writes that these souls were His “drop of consolation.” Imagine that: in His darkest hour, it wasn’t the miracles, but their fidelity that strengthened Him.
In Diary 1214, Jesus invites us to see these souls not as ordinary, but extraordinary in their steadiness. Mercy isn't always loud. Sometimes it’s found in the soul who simply refuses to stop loving, even when no one sees.
Reflective Questions:
Who in my life reflects quiet, consistent faith — and how can I learn from them?
Do I underestimate the power of small, hidden acts of faith and mercy?
How can I renew my own faithfulness today, even in ordinary moments?
Mercy Challenge:
Think of someone in your parish, family, or community who lives their faith humbly and sincerely. Today, honour them — by praying for them, sending a message of gratitude, or emulating one of their quiet virtues.
