Into the Depths of Divine Mercy (Day 6)

April 23, 2025:

In a world that rewards noise and ambition, Jesus draws near to the quiet ones.

Today, He invites us to honor the humble — the pure-hearted, the meek, and the childlike. These souls, He says, are closest to His Heart because they trust completely and love simply.

Intention: The Meek and Humble Souls and the Souls of Little Children (Diary 1220). “Today bring to Me the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace.”

Prayer:

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said, “Learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart.” Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all Heaven into ecstasy and are the Heavenly Father’s favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek and humble souls and upon the souls of little children, who are enfolded in the abode of the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: bless the whole world, that all souls may sing the praises of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Reflection:

We often think power changes the world — but Jesus tells us it's meekness that moves Heaven. Humility isn’t weakness. It’s strength that chooses gentleness. In St. Faustina’s vision, these souls — the humble and the childlike — brought Jesus comfort during His agony. They didn’t need to accomplish great things. Their trust alone consoled Him.

Maybe today, mercy looks like becoming small. Like letting go of control, of pride, of needing to be seen. Like choosing a simple, surrendered love — one that believes being close to Jesus matters more than anything else.

Reflective Questions:

1. How can I grow in humility and childlike trust today?

2. Do I sometimes overlook the power of gentleness and meekness?

3. When was the last time I found joy in being small, hidden, or unnoticed?

Mercy Challenge:

Take one small act of humility today — let someone else go first, admit a fault, offer a quiet act of service. Do it not to be seen, but to resemble the Heart of Christ.
