Interfaith Conference "Sadbhav" Unites Youth in Goa

Goa, August 6, 2024: Over 90 students from nine colleges gathered in Goa for this year's “Sadbhav” (goodwill) conference, held on August 3. The event, known as ‘Yuva Sadbhav,’ is an interfaith initiative aimed at bringing together young people from diverse religious and belief backgrounds to engage in dialogue, build relationships and foster trust and understanding for the common good.

Launched in March 2022, the 'Yuva Sadbhav Project' strives to encourage genuine interaction among youth by promoting interreligious awareness, overcoming prejudice, and fostering solidarity. The project’s convener, Fr Elvis Fernandes, a member of the Society of Pilar, emphasized the importance of building bridges toward friendship and understanding to create a society grounded in trust, respect and cooperation among people of different faiths and beliefs.

The conference featured several speakers from various faith groups and academics who addressed the attendees. In addition to these insightful sessions, the event included a range of fun-filled and group activities, further enhancing the spirit of unity and collaboration among the participants.

The Society of Pilar plays a pivotal role in organizing and supporting initiatives like the 'Yuva Sadbhav Project' which aim to foster harmony and goodwill among the youth in India.
