ICYM Moodubelle Shines at ‘Sportify 2025’ Diocesan Athletics Meet with Multiple Medals

Udupi, May 26, 2025: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Moodubelle unit delivered an exceptional performance at Sportify 2025, a diocese-level athletics meet held on Sunday, May 25, at Ajjarkad Stadium in Udupi. Organised by the Diocese of Udupi in association with ICYM Udupi Deanery, the event brought together participants from several parishes across the diocese. ICYM Moodubelle stood out at the event with one of the highest participation rates and a remarkable medal tally, showcasing the team’s dedication and sportsmanship.


Leading the Moodubelle contingent was Arnika Varsha D’Souza, who was crowned Overall Women’s Champion. Arnika clinched first place in the 100m and 400m races, second in Long Jump, and third in the Women’s Relay.


Several other athletes from ICYM Moodubelle also brought pride to their parish. Sonia earned second place in the 200m sprint, while Elson Noronha secured second in both Long Jump and Hurdles. He also contributed to a second-place finish in the Men’s Relay alongside Florence D’Almeida. Shanel Britto added to the medal tally with third-place finishes in both Shot Put and Javelin Throw.


On the team front, the Udupi Deanery volleyball team, with strong contributions from ICYM Moodubelle, claimed second place in Volleyball. The Udupi Deanery team included four talented players from the ICYM Moodubelle unit: Rosten Lobo, Royston Martis, Elson Noronha, and Tejas


The ICYM Moodubelle team's dedication, discipline, and unity were evident throughout the competition. Their achievements, coupled with their enthusiastic turnout, brought immense pride to both the parish and Udupi Deanery.


ICYM Moodubelle’s achievements at Sportify 2025 not only brought laurels to the parish but also demonstrated the impact of grassroots youth platforms in nurturing talent and sportsmanship.
