Tenth Batch of CCBI Financial Administrators’ Course for Women Religious Commences

Goa, 27 May 2025: Shanti Sadan, CCBI Extension Secretariat, is organising the tenth batch of the financial management training programme for provincials and provincial financial administrators of women’s religious congregations from May 27 to 31, 2025 in Goa. Thirty-six sisters from twelve congregations are participating in the course.

Fr. Duming Gonsalves, the administrator, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons. Most Rev. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, was the main celebrant of the inaugural Mass. He emphasised that financial administrators play an important role in their respective congregations and wished them well in their ministry.

The emphasis on transparency and compassion in financial management, highlighted by Rev. Dr. Aleixo Menezes, is crucial for building trust and credibility within religious congregations and their affiliated institutions. Rev. Fr. Dr. Aleixo Menezes gave an orientation talk to the group. Mr. Sunil Gonsalves, C.A., and Mr. Gaver S. Lobo, C.A., served as the resource persons.

In addition to the training, the participants embarked on a pilgrimage to several significant locations, including the Bom Jesus Basilica, Sé Cathedral, and the Church of the Cross of Miracles in Old Goa; the St. Joseph Vaz Centre in Old Goa; the Tomb of Agnel in Pilar; St. Joseph Vaz Church in Sancoale; and St. John Baptist Church in Benaulim.

Shanti Sadan in Goa offers specialised courses, including the Financial Management Course for financial administrators at the diocesan and provincial levels, and the Diocesan Administration Course designed for Vicar Generals and Chancellors. These courses address the specific needs of individuals involved in the administrative and financial aspects of the Catholic Church.
