H.H. Baselios Marthoma Mathews III Receives Warm Welcome in Bhopal

Bhopal, 25 March, 2025 – The Archdiocese of Bhopal had the distinct honour of welcoming His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, on Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India, on 24 March, during his visit to the city.

In a moment of profound ecumenical unity, Archbishop Durairaj SVD joined the St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral community to extend a heartfelt reception to His Holiness. Accompanied by Fr. Alfred D’Souza, PRO of the Archdiocese of Bhopal, the welcome ceremony reflected a deep commitment to interfaith harmony and fellowship.

Addressing the faithful, His Holiness conveyed his blessings and expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. His visit marked a significant moment of spiritual communion and dialogue, reinforcing the shared mission of unity in faith and service.
