Eluru, October 22, 2025: The Diocese of Eluru launched an immediate and comprehensive relief effort to support those devastated by unprecedented heavy rains and floods in the region.
The floods inflicted severe damage to life, health, homes, and livelihoods, leaving thousands of families in need of shelter, food, and medical support.
The SSC, supported by generous donors, deployed field staff and volunteers to the hardest-hit areas, including Munganda, Mukteswaram, Komaragiri, Mummidivaram, Bobbarlanka, and Nidadavole in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District.
With solidarity and compassion, the SSC distributed emergency relief materials—food and ration kits, blankets, cooking utensils, and first-aid medicines—to all victims, regardless of caste, creed, or religion. Local health workers, St. Vincent de Paul Society members, and community leaders collaborated to identify affected families and ensure aid reached remote households.
This relief effort, enabled by benefactors’ contributions, underscores the Church’s mission of mercy and the Diocese of Eluru’s commitment to support the poor and marginalized, with ongoing efforts to aid rehabilitation and rebuilding.
