New Delhi, 6 March, 2025: The Commission for Women is set to implement the Pastoral Plan—Mission 2033 by establishing women’s resource teams in dioceses and regions where bishops, priests, and women have expressed interest. Out of 132 dioceses, many are yet to respond, but efforts will continue until May 2025 to ensure widespread participation.
A Vision for Women’s Empowerment
The initiative is rooted in the Commission’s commitment to empowering women, promoting equality, and fostering supportive relationships. Instead of following a formal, knowledge-based approach, such as a student-teacher model, the project encourages a personal, heart-to-heart methodology. This shift aims to create genuine connections, allowing women to relate to each other’s experiences and build confidence, empathy, and resilience.
Inspired by the biblical encounter between Mother Mary and Elizabeth, the Commission seeks to create spaces where women can meet, share their struggles and joys, and uplift one another. The 10 Women Mission is designed not only for women within the Church but also to extend support to those in sorrow or need, ensuring no one is left behind.
Who Can Join the Mission?
The 10-member teams do not require highly educated or wealthy individuals. Instead, the initiative welcomes volunteers willing to serve God, their communities, the Church, and nature. The Commission offers no material rewards, only the fulfilment that comes from accompanying and supporting others.
Confidence in Success
With strong backing from Church leaders, well-wishers, and the dedication of the national resource team, the Commission for Women is confident that this mission will succeed. The project is not merely a human effort but a divine calling, relying on God’s providence to guide its journey.
